Hello everyone! So, there's been a lot going on lately around the world, and we would like to first take a moment to wish you all to be safe and healthy <3 Let's talk about the elephant in the room : the bakes on mesh update of October 2019, also called BOM, It's been on around for a while now, so I'm sure most of you are familiar with it by now. For those who aren't, BOM is a new feature that allow system layers (such as tattoo layers) to be shown on mesh attachement, such as mesh heads. We'll go over the advantage of this update in a moment. Regarding our products, we have always included tattoo layers versions of our makeup in our packs, which means that all our products are BOM compatible : you can wear them on any BOM enabled mesh heads. However, the fitting may be different depending on your head and shape. We believe Bakes on mesh is a game changer for Second Life's makeup lovers community! Why? No more applier/layers limitation: making it easier to customise your avatar! No more will you have to choose between that cute blush and these fierce brows, you can have it all! With BOM, you can add up to 62 layers on your avatar. Hi infinite customisation, how are ya? No more complicated HUDs: it's back to basics with BOM, you add your tattoo layers on the order you want them to show up (blush before brows, unless you're into that, we're not judging), save your outfit configuration, and you're all set! No longer will you have to use script-heavy presets huds, or scavenge through your inventory for the correct applier hud. No more alpha glitches: often observed with lashes and hairs, these glitches causes the texture of the makeup to disappear along the lines of the mesh, I'm sure you know what i'm talking about girl. Well, no more of that! Interested? Here is some extra reading to get you started with Bakes On Mesh We would also like to address the question of the future of appliers. At the moment, we are still including traditional appliers with our products. However, we are planning to eventually stop making traditional appliers, as we truly believe BOM enable both the users and the creators to unlock new levels of customisation. We will communicate more precisely on this soon. Appliers will not completely disappear as more heads are now offering possibility of HD lips and eye-shadow, which we will definitely support on limited brands. We have set up a little FAQ/Help section dedicated to Bakes On Mesh that you can read here in the meantime. If you have more questions, make sure to contact us on any of our socials listed below! Let us know how you feel about BOM! Dotty's Secret Cosmetics Team
